Sounds good. I haven't played in years, so you'll probably beat the nass out of me, but the important part is that we have fun!
Three elf wizards? [a pause as she thinks things over] Is one of them named Lup? I don't think I've met any space Marine commando guys yet. Especially not any massive ones. And normal? Boooo.
Honestly, I haven't either. We're probably pretty evenly matched.
But yeah, Lup's one! And she's got this twin brother who looks just like her, but whines way more. It's kinda funny. And there's nothing wrong with being normal, come on.
Really? So there's an equal chance we'll both be bad at it? I like those odds.
I've met her before, she seems nice. And a twin, huh? Is that the other guy who posted about magic lessons a while back? And no, there's nothing wrong with it but if I was normal, I wouldn't wanna go stomping around in the Nautilus' backyard.
Oh yeah, I think he did do a post like that. I'd have to look back on the network, but I don't know how much longer I'll be able to access it out here.
I kind of admire them for it, y'know? They know all the risks, but they're still willing to take them for the sake of learning.
If it helps, I'm gonna make sure I take like a million pictures if we end up finding anything interesting. So far the most notable thing is cold peeing, though.
[SHE WOULD, BUT THEN PEOPLE WOULD ACCUSE HER OF OVERREACTING. WHICH WOULD MAKE HER AN IMMATURE DUMB KID]
Which is. . . not all that notable and something I'm definitely willing to pass up. [she adopts a snooty tone] I'm a daughter of Bgztl! Daughters of Bgztl don't pee in the wild.
I mean when you say it like that, it just makes me picture those fancy toilets that shoot water up your butt. Do you have those on Bg...Bizkit-l. B-- Are there even any vowels in that word? I feel like my tongue's gonna pretzel itself every time I try to pronounce that.
and she laughs] Nope, not a single vowel. Not many vowels in my native language at all. Unlike Terran, which has too many. Like "y." You can't settle on a sound for "y!" Pick one!
[IT IS, TOO. IT'S A 30TH CENTURY OBSCENITY AND IT IS TOO A WORD.
she laughs] I think we'll deal without it. You would not believe how obsessed with the old ways Bgztl high society is. Most of them still worship the Mistress!
[THAT'S BECAUSE THE COMICS CODE OF THE 70S & 80S DIDN'T ALLOW REAL CURSE WORDS]
Would you believe both? [a pause, then a laugh] She's a goddess. Everything's matrilineal. Which makes it stupid that everyone held my Terran father against me when mother was descended from pure Bgztlian royalty, but what can you do?
No, they really don't. Can you believe that when I was growing up, I kept getting back-handed compliments about how good my phasing was, considering my "limitations."
It is shitty, but Bgztlian high society is obsessed with blood purity because they're afraid that if too many Bgztlians have children with non-Bgztlians and their kids have kids with other non-Bgztlians, an entire way of life will die out. Which is . . . it's possible? But most Bgztlians never leave Bgztl in the first place.
Well, to be honest, a lot of people from worlds in the United Planets were descended from humans. It's just that their ancestors were abducted, experimented on to give them super-powers, then freed by a hero named Valor and taken to new worlds. So a Carggite with a Terran is no big deal.
No, no, not all of us. Bgztlians evolved separately. We didn't make contact with Earth until two hundred years ago. We knew it was there, but I guess we were afraid.
From what I remember in history classes, we were afraid of exactly what I described before: losing our way of life. Bgztlian society is proud, both of our phasing and of our unique place in the galaxy. We did some exploring of other planets and there wasn't anybody else on our side of the dimension. That gave us kind of an over-inflated sense of importance.
